Adam Hull and Rick Jordan joined Polsinelli as co-chairs and shareholders of the firm’s venture capital and emerging growth companies group. Hull’s practice focuses on representing high-growth businesses, primarily in software, hardware, Internet of Things, medtech, cleantech, life sciences, and fintech. Jordan also represents high-growth businesses primarily in the technology sector. His experience encompasses a wide range of corporate and governance matters, including venture capital financings and mergers and acquisitions. Hull was partner at Gardere Wynne Sewell. Jordan was partner at Gardere Wynne Sewelll with Hull.
Benjamin J. Rajabi has joined Porter Hedges as a partner in the energy section in Houston. Rajabi counsels a wide range of clients in the energy industry with a particular focus on the midstream oil and gas sector.
Brandon Bloom rejoined Thompson & Knight’s Dallas office as partner in the tax practice group. Bloom practiced law at Thompson & Knight for more than seven years before becoming managing tax counsel at Vistra Energy Corp.
Courtney York joined Akin Gump as partner in its corporate practice group in Dallas. York focuses her practice on merger and acquisitions, securities offerings and technology transactions. York was a partner Baker Botts.
Stuart Shapley joins Munck Wilson Mandala as senior counsel of the firm’s intellectual law practice group as senior counsel. Shapley was an associate at Sprinkle IP Law Group.

Arthur E. Anthony, partner at Locke Lord, was named one of National Diversity Council’s Top 50 Multicultural Lawyers in Dallas. The list recognizes those who have shown leadership excellence in the legal field and noteworthy commitment to fairness, equality and justice in professional collaborations. Anthony is a partner in Locke Lord’s Dallas office and Co-chair of the firm’s board of directors.
Kent Hofmeister, of Brown & Hofmeister in Dallas, has been selected by the Federal Bar Association as the 2017 recipient of the Earl W. Kinter Award for Distinguished Service. Hofmeister was the national president of the FBA in 2002-2003. The award will be presented at the FBA national convention in Atlanta on Sept. 16, 2017.
Baker Botts has announced that partner Scott Partridge has assumed the role of Chair of Intellectual Property Law Section of the American Bar Association (ABA). Formerly Chair-Elect, Partridge automatically assumed the office of Section Chair at the close of the Section’s business meeting in August 2017 during the ABA annual meeting in New York.
