The effect of the trial court's judgment was to nullify the parties' agreement that contributions to the separate estate of a party would be a gift to the separate estate that would not create a property interest in the separate estate or a right to reimbursement, and to reinstate the common law presumption that all property is community property subject to equitable division by the court.
