Averting a trial that would have opened a window into management of the complicated estate of Houston trial lawyer John M. O’Quinn, O’Quinn’s foundation settled a lawsuit alleging executor T. Gerald Treece treated the estate as a “personal slush fund.”

Lawyers representing The John M. O’Quinn Foundation, the sole beneficiary of O’Quinn’s estate, and Treece confirmed on April 7 that the parties reached a settlement on the evening of April 6 following a one-day mediation before Barbara Radnofsky of Houston.
