A Dallas federal judge offered no explanations for multiple orders he issued on his own this month in Exxon Mobil Corp.’s battle with Massachusetts and New York Attorneys General.

But the effect of those orders could be that when Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson seeks Senate confirmation as secretary of state, the process will not be competing for attention with his company’s battle with the attorneys general.
