Motor Vehicle

Neither driver was to blame for a collision on a parkway in Grand Prairie, a jury found on Feb. 8. Gloria Valadez was driving a minivan with Ufoma Oweh driving a sedan in the lane to her right. Valadez’s right front quarter panel hit Oweh’s left side. Valadez claimed Oweh made an unsafe lane change. Oweh denied changing lanes and contended that Valadez failed to maintain a single lane. The defense noted that Valadez admitted she did not see Oweh’s vehicle before the impact. Jurors said afterward that they felt Valadez was more likely to have departed her lane, especially since she did not see Oweh’s vehicle.
