Just a week before their case involving a $50 million insurance dispute was to be heard by the Texas Supreme Court, Cameron International Corp. and Liberty Insurance Underwriters were able to reach a settlement. Liberty agreed to a undisclosed settlement that resolved the claims by Cameron that the insurer acted unfairly in refusing to provide $50 million in coverage for Cameron’s settlement with BP, related to the Deepwater Horizon blowout in 2010.

Houston-based Cameron is a global provider of pressure control, processing, flow control and compression systems used in the oil and gas industry. Cameron manufactured and supplied the blowout preventer on Transocean’s Deepwater Horizon.
