Teen driver gets small sum for alleged injuries

On Jan. 28, a teenager who claimed back and neck injuries in an intersection collision recovered $457. In 2012, Jeana Luttrell, then 18, hit the left rear corner of a sedan driven by David Leddy-Weaver. He admitted failing to yield the right of way, but said he looked both ways before proceeding and did not see Luttrell. Also, he was almost all the way across the intersection before Luttrell hit him, and after the accident, Luttrell told him that she was sorry and that she had not seen him. The jury found Leddy-Weaver 55 percent negligent and Luttrell 45 negligent, which reduced its $831 award.
