Primarily because of the opening of a new office in Midland, Kelly Hart & Hallman added 13 lateral hires in Texas in 2014, far more than the five laterals the Fort Worth-based firm hired in 2013.

Absorbing a total of 13 laterals in Texas—as well as nine others in the firm’s new New Orleans office—is a tall order for a firm that had 141 lawyers as of Jan. 1. But Dee Kelly Jr., the firm’s managing partner, said the integration is going well, and the firm is always looking for opportunity to add great lawyers.
