Houston attorney David Beck awaits confirmation by the Texas Senate after Gov. Greg Abbott appointed him to be a regent of The University of Texas System.

Beck, partner in Beck Redden, has roots in the University of Texas School of Law. He earned his law degree there in 1965, and he has stayed in touch during his legal career. A center at UT Law is named after him: The David J. Beck Center for Legal Research, Writing and Appellate Advocacy. Beck has served as the president of the UT Law School Foundation.
