In a defective product case pitting an Anchorage-based oil refinery company against manufacturers and marketers of a valve, Alistair Dawson and James D. Smith bolted down a victory Oct. 31 with a take-nothing final judgment for their separate corporate defendants.

Dawson, a partner in Houston’s Beck/Redden, represents Samshin Limited, the South Korea-based manufacturer of the valves in question. Smith, the managing partner in Houston’s Smith Adams Law Feehan, represents the U.S.-based companies that marketed the valves, including Stafford, Texas-based Newco Valve.
