Everyone wants to be happy, but few people know how to become happy. Happiness is not an elusive state of being. Choosing to take a few simple steps to become more self-aware and change our perceptions can bring about a happier state of mind. Here are a few practical suggestions to help you in your journey toward fulfillment.

1. Find the area of law that inspires you, and use your skills to help someone in need. Idealism tends to fade throughout a career. An attorney may end up far from where she imagined herself on the first day of law school. Perhaps the work that is her passion is not lucrative, and she needed to sacrifice her passion in the face of economic reality. But choosing a different path does not mean abandoning fulfilling work.
