A Florida businessman and his company, Eagletech Communications, filed a $100 million suit against the late John M. O’Quinn, his firm and estate, alleging that they failed to uphold the Houston plaintiff lawyer’s promise to “never quit” representing Eagletech in three lawsuits in Florida.

Rodney Young, of Plantation, Fla., and Eagletech, of Fort Lauderdale, allege that after the O’Quinn Law Firm of Houston “induced” Young on Eagletech’s behalf to accept a $525,000 settlement in 2010 in one of the suits, the firm informed Young that it was withdrawing from representation.
