Six checks or wire transfers totaling $150,000 allegedly made payable to 380th District Judge Suzanne Wooten’s campaign manager during the first quarter of 2008 are the basis of indictments against Wooten and three other individuals.

A Collin County grand jury handed up the Oct. 14 indictments against Wooten; James Stephen Spencer, her campaign manager in 2008; David Cary; and Stacy Stine Cary. As noted in the indictments, each defendant faces six counts of bribery and one count of engaging in organized criminal activity.
