A jury in a Harris County district court has awarded $1,222,491 to a leverman who sustained back injuries while working aboard a dredge on the Mississippi River. On Nov. 1, 2005, Roger Hamilton slipped and fell on the bottom step of a ladder on the outside of the vessel owned by Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Co. Hamilton claimed he sustained herniated disks.
