On March 10, a judge tossed out a woman’s suit against her former employer after determining that she didn’t have enough proof to support her sexual harassment claim. Maria Arroyo worked at Tripple M Oil Tool Inc., a manufacturing plant in Odessa, for about eight months before quitting in January 2007. She alleged that a few months into her employment, her supervisor began using sexually graphic language and requesting sexual favors. She said the harassment became so intolerable that she was forced to resign. Tripple M denied that Arroyo’s supervisor, who was not named in the suit, made the remarks attributed to him. It also argued that Arroyo didn’t follow the company’s channels for reporting sexual harassment prior to her resignation.
