A 47-year-old man pleaded guilty on Sept. 9 in a Georgetown courtroom to lying under oath in a pro se writ application in which he claimed to be innocent of the charge to which he had pleaded guilty in 1988. Judge Burt Carnes of the 368th District Court sentenced Leonard Lynn Washington to two years in prison for aggravated perjury -- a sentence that will be stacked on the 40-year sentence that Washington is serving for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
