Texas has long attracted out-of-state firms, but several leading Am Law 100 firms without Texas offices are hiring lawyers in the state, which reflects the new popularity of remote work, but also may indicate a firm has a roster of clients in Texas or plans for a new office.

A total of 20 of the Am Law 25 firms have at least one office in Texas, but lawyers working for three of the other five—Ropes & Gray, Cooley, and Goodwin Procter—indicate on their State Bar of Texas membership records that their primary practice location is in Texas.
