The Bexar County 226th District Court incumbent, Judge Velia J. Meza, faces a Democratic primary challenge from a veteran trial attorney, Demetrio Duarte Jr.

Meza is completing her first term of office, having been elected November 2018. She practiced as a private civil, criminal and family law attorney for 16 years, both in state and federal courts.
