The Florida Supreme Court handed down a 90-day suspension for Hillsborough County attorney John Kevin Carey for engaging in a sexual relationship with a client, whom he represented in multiple lawsuits, including the client’s divorce.
The high court found the sexual relationship became a contentious issue during the underlying litigation, which negatively affected the litigation process.
