A Colorado company seeks more than $1 million in damages from Diamond McCarthy, alleging the Texas-founded firm was negligent when representing it in a legal malpractice suit against Holland & Knight that was summarily dismissed because it was filed too late.

Prospect Development Co. alleges in a petition filed on Friday in state district court in Harris County that because of the defendants’ conduct, its claims against Holland & Knight are “barred and rendered worthless,” and it additionally faces two judgments to pay Holland & Knight for attorney fees and costs.
