Three Texas district court nominees—all three grads of the University of Texas School of Law—are a step closer to confirmation after the Senate Judiciary Committee Thursday voted to advance their nominations.

James “Wes” Hendrix, a nominee to be judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, enjoyed unanimous support and passed the committee 22-0. However, a closer vote of 12-10 passed each of the other Texas judicial nominees, Sean Jordan for the Eastern District and Mark Pittman for the Northern District.
