There’s some disagreement among Texas lawyers—and their peers nationally—as to whether a lack of civility exists in the legal profession.

In an informal survey on the state of civility in law, Texas lawyers were least likely to affirmatively identify a lack of civility in the legal profession with just under 20 percent calling it a pervasive problem. More than 75 percent of Texas respondents answered that it was “somewhat” a problem, and nearly 4 percent said “no” it isn’t.
