The Third Court of Appeals held that the city of Austin owes property owners additional interest on a judgment awarded to them in a long-running eminent domain battle and that the interest should be calculated from 2007, not 2013 as the city has contended.

One of the property owners in Whittington v. City of Austin is Harry Whittington, an Austin solo who made headlines nationwide in 2006 when then-Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot him during a quail hunt.
