It’s always nice to get a lift from the U.S. Department of Justice on your way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Michael M. Daniel of the Dallas law office of Daniel & Beshara, who represents a nonprofit, got just such elevation last month when the DOJ filed an amicus brief in favor of his client The Inclusive Communities Project Inc., in a major civil rights case scheduled for arguments before the high court on Jan. 21.
