The U.S. Supreme Court eased into the October 2023 term last week with a light load of three arguments and a long weekend due to the Columbus Day holiday.

The court will announce whether it has agreed to hear any new cases from Friday’s conference on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. So far, the docket this term is over 20 cases shy of last term’s full caseload, so the justices are expected to grant more petitions for certiorari, or review, in the coming weeks and months.
