A Harvard Law School graduate and former clerk to the late Justice Antonin Scalia, Demers had previously worked in the Boston office of Ropes & Gray. President Donald Trump nominated Demers on Sept. 1 for the DOJ assistant attorney general position.

Demers has led regulatory work inside Boeing’s law department, advising the company on ethics, campaign financing and lobbying law, government contracting policy and federal agencies’ various rules. His financial disclosure covers a period from January 2016 to April of this year.
