The New Jersey Senate Judiciary Committee has approved Passaic County Judge Liliana DeAvila-Silebi for tenure.
The committee on May 14 recommended three lawyers for initial seven-year terms on the Superior Court bench and approved seven sitting trial judges for tenure, but DeAvila-Silebi’s nomination was held over without explanation.
