New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has publicly attempted to use the recent indictments in the so-called Bridgegate scandal to distance himself from controversy in preparation for a presidential bid, but it may not be so easy for him to move on, some political observers said.

The reportedly ongoing investigations into former Port Authority of New York and New Jersey chairman and Christie ally David Samson, coupled with Bridgegate, continue to cast a pall over Christie, his administration and his anticipated presidential campaign, pundits said.
