A fatal police shooting that was captured on video has prompted a civil rights suit filed in federal court in Camden against the city of Bridgeton, members of its police department and the Cumberland County prosecutor.

The suit was filed by the widow of Jerame Reid, who was killed during a traffic stop in Bridgeton on Dec. 30, 2014. Two Bridgeton officers, Braheme Days and Roger Worley, both fired shots at Reid after spotting a handgun in the car carrying Reid and another man, according to media accounts. A video of the shooting, captured by the dash camera of a police car, went viral and was shown on television.
