Julien Neals, who held numerous positions with the City of Newark and only recently was appointed Bergen County counsel, is a candidate for a federal judgeship.

Sources said that Neals has been recommended by U.S. Sen. Cory Booker and is in the process of being vetted by law enforcement and the American Bar Association for a spot on the bench in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
