The New Jersey Senate on Feb. 5 gave final legislative approval to a bill that would give more convicted drunken drivers the option of having ignition interlock devices installed in their cars as an alternative to license revocation.

The Senate passed the bill in a 29-4 vote. It passed the Assembly last June in a 46-15 vote. It now goes to Gov. Chris Christie for his action. Spokespersons for the governor did not respond to a request for comment.
