The threat of data breaches is a top concern for law departments, in-house lawyers have said—and they’re looking to outside counsel to assume the role of trusted advisor in one form or another.

“Cyberattacks have to be up at the top of the list” of concerns, said Herbert Moore Jr., senior counsel at ff Venture Capital (ffVC), a fund with offices in New York and Hoboken, N.J., that invests in technology startups.
