New Jersey lawmakers have delayed action on a bill that would restrict access to information on electronic data records, more commonly known as “black boxes,” that are installed in automobiles.

The Senate Law and Public Safety Committee on Jan. 29 put off a vote on recommending final passage of an Assembly bill, A3579, that passed the lower house of the Legislature in a 68-0 vote on Dec. 19.
