Surrogate AndersonESTATE OF ANDRES MEJIAS, Deceased (15-3558/B) — The administrator’s petition for leave to compromise causes of action for decedent’s conscious pain and suffering and wrongful death is granted. The restrictions contained in the letters issued to the administrator are removed, and he is authorized to collect the settlement and execute the necessary receipts and releases. The settlement proceeds are to be allocated entirely to the cause of action for conscious pain and suffering.The fees and disbursements of petitioner’s attorneys are fixed and determined as set forth in the decree. The court authorizes a payment of $16,000 to the New York City Department of Social Services for Medicaid assistance furnished to decedent, in full satisfaction of its lien against decedent’s estate. The balance of the settlement proceeds shall be distributed to decedent’s distributees in accordance with the petition.The account is settled, and the decree is signed.Dated: May 2, 2019.

ESTATE OF ELSA SAMAYQA HERRERA A/K/A ELSA SAMAYOA, Deceased (10-1070/A) — The proposed compromise of causes of action for decedent’s conscious pain and suffering and wrongful death is approved. The proceeds are allocated $25,000 to the cause of action for conscious pain and suffering and $690,000 to the cause of action for wrongful death. The restrictions contained in the letters issued to the administrator are removed and she is authorized to collect the settlement and execute the necessary receipts and releases.The administrator is authorized to pay the sum of $25, 000 to the New York City Department of Social Services and the sum of $145,682.86 for medical services incurred in respect to decedent’s injuries which caused her death to Medicare in full satisfaction of their respective claims.The compensation and disbursements of the attorneys for the administrator are fixed and determined.The net proceeds shall be paid to decedent’s children, Yolanda Mero, Raul Mero and Cindy Mero, in equal shares.The account is settled and the decree is signed.Dated: May 2, 2019.
