*1 Christine Murray Anger was appointed Guardian of the Person and Property of her daughter Kaitlyn Murray, pursuant to SCPA Article 17-A, on May 31, 2001. Sadly, the Court was informed of Kaitlyn’s passing on April 18, 2017.Kaitlyn Murray’s Estate was commenced under this Court’s File Number 2017-496, with Christine Murray Anger’s filing of a petition for letters of administration. Within her petition, Ms. Murray Anger also requested that Robert Murray be disqualified from receiving any share in the decedent’s estate, pursuant to EPTL 4-1.4, alleging that he abandoned the decedent and at no time resumed a parental relationship with her or assumed parental duties.1Robert Murray subsequently filed a cross-petition and amended cross-petition for letters of administration, seeking the additional relief that Christine Murray Anger be disqualified from receiving any share of the decedent’s estate on the grounds of constructive abandonment.
