The City of New York has agreed to pay $9.9 million to a man who spent nearly 19 years in prison after being framed for murder by former police officer Louis Eppolito, one of the two so-called “Mafia cops.”

The deal, which must still be approved by Eastern District Judge I. Leo Glasser, constitutes the largest individual civil settlement in the city’s history.
