An appeals court has upheld the dismissal of a malpractice lawsuit against Stroock & Stroock & Lavan brought by real estate developers claiming the firm’s actions prompted them to lose control of a condominium project.

In their malpractice complaint, plaintiffs Heritage Partners LLC and its founders, Ethan Eldon and Joel Silver, said they retained Stroock in 2004 to represent them in their ownership and conversion of a prewar building into a condominium called the Tribeca Summit. Heritage was the developer and part owner.
