Thomas Munno, 70, who has served as Dechert’s New York managing partner for the past 21 years, retired from the partnership Tuesday. The firm has appointed Kathleen Massey to succeed him in overseeing Dechert’s largest office, which has more than 200 lawyers.

Massey, 55, will become Dechert’s first female managing partner in New York Wednesday. She joined Dechert as a partner in 2003 from Reboul, MacMurray, Hewitt, Maynard & Kristol, which merged into Ropes & Gray. She is a member of Dechert’s firmwide partner promotion committee and chair of the New York women’s committee.
