ALBANY – New procedures allowing New York lawyers to anonymously disclose their pro bono donations are the byproduct of court administrators and the organized bar working together, leaders of both sides said Monday.

The rules represent a compromise over Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman’s 2013 proposal to require attorneys to reveal, in reports available to the media and the public, how much they contribute in time and money to pro bono causes.
