A Long Island attorney convicted of stealing more than $950,000 from a firm where he was a named partner received a 30-day jail sentence and five years of probation Tuesday.

Barton Nachamie, a bankruptcy lawyer and partner of the now-defunct Nachamie Spizz Cohen & Serchuk, was convicted on March 12 of two counts of second-degree grand larceny and five counts of first-degree falsifying business records.
