ALBANY – The decision by St. John’s University School of Law to rescind a student’s application for inaccurately disclosing his involvement with illegal drugs was “rational” and in line with its treatment of other applicants with similar drug pasts, the Court of Appeals decided Thursday.

In another decision Thursday related to a dispute over an advanced college degree, the court said a case challenging New York University’s expulsion of a dental student for allegedly filing false clinic hour records should be returned to the Supreme Court so the college could file further answering papers.
