Ronald Richter, a Queens family court judge who previously led New York City’s Administration for Children’s Services, will step down from the bench in May to become CEO of Jewish Child Care Association.

In his new role, Richter, 50, will oversee a nonprofit serving about 16,000 children and families annually, with 1,400 staff and an annual budget of $110 million. JCCA’s programs for children in the greater New York area include foster care, mental health and preventive services, residential treatment, services to recent immigrants, education and services to children with special needs.
