A jury has awarded $140,000 to a former Faruqi & Faruqi associate, finding the law firm and a partner liable under New York City law for discrimination.

Alexandra Marchuk was awarded about $90,000 in front pay and back pay damages, plus $50,000 in punitive damages against the firm and partner Juan Monteverde. The jury rejected damages under federal and state discrimination claims or for emotional damages.
