Tell us about your biggest trial win from January 2017 to July 2018 and how you achieved the result for your client. In February 2018, a Richmond federal court jury returned a groundbreaking verdict in favor of our client Steves and Sons Inc., finding that defendant Jeld-Wen Inc. had violated Section 7 of the Clayton Antitrust Act when it merged with a competitor in 2012. The jury awarded Steves $12 million in past damages and $46.5 million in future lost profits. If the verdict is upheld on appeal, the damages will be trebled automatically, and Steves will entitled to recover its attorneys’ fees. The presiding judge, Robert E. Payne, has under advisement Steves’ post-verdict motion to order the divestiture by Jeld-Wen of the principal asset it acquired in the merger.
