Citizens are involved in a vigorous debate as to the view of guns at the time of the addition of the Second Amendment. Proponents of the "militia-linked" view may have, by a nose, the better of the argument. What is striking is that proponents of gun control seem devoted to "original intent" as of 1791. It would be an occasion for celebration if a unanimous high court adopted a "dynamic" approach to the amendment, both recognizing the "individual right" and accepting the legitimacy of reasonable regulation.
