A retired New York partner for Latham & Watkins has resigned from the bar after pleading guilty earlier this year to failure to pay taxes, a Class A misdemeanor.

Francis K. Decker, who retired from the firm in 2004, admitted in January 2007 that he had not paid New York state or city income tax returns for 2003 or 2004. He had been under investigation for not having filed returns from 1999 on.
