The head of the U.S. Department of Justice’s health care fraud unit in the Criminal Division is joining Hogan Lovells, the firm announced Monday morning. Gejaa Gobena will be a white-collar defense partner in the firm’s Washington office.

Gobena has been the leader on some major health care charges coming out of DOJ, such as the so-called largest takedown ever of Medicare and Medicaid fraud announced last week. In that, the department said it had charged 301 people with submitting $900 million in fraudulent billings.
