Lobbying AGs: Attorneys general are now the object of aggressive pursuit by lobbyists and lawyers who use campaign contributions, personal appeals at lavish corporate-sponsored conferences and other means to push them to drop investigations, change policies, negotiate favorable settlements or pressure federal regulators, an investigation by The New York Times has found.
Taking Aim: At least five shareholder plaintiffs firms have taken aim at iBio Inc., a small Delaware-based biotech company that claims to be “a leader in the plant-made pharmaceutical field.” The company’s stock rose and fell amid reports connecting the company to efforts by the U.S. government and drugmakers to ramp up production of an experimental Ebola treatment called Zmapp, the AmLaw Litigation Daily reports.
