As Maine’s economy recovers slowly but steadily from the Great Recession, the state’s lawyers are starting to see more activity in a few practice areas.

At the home office of Verrill Dana, a 115-attorney firm based in Portland, Maine, lawyers are realizing more business from the hospitality and tourism sectors, managing partner Keith Jones said. The city’s hotel industry is expanding, with building renovations and new construction expected to add more than 450 rooms.
