A federal judge has preliminarily approved a $35.5 million deal to end an antitrust class action against Babies “R” Us.

The lawsuit, first filed in 2009, claimed that Babies “R” Us coerced manufacturers of high-ticket baby strollers, car seats and other products to refuse to allow Internet retailers to discount the goods and undercut Babies “R” Us prices. As a result, consumers were overcharged for the products, the lawsuit alleged.
